This book is chock full of information and ideas for creating a greener, more sustainable way of life. Whether it’s making a balcony garden, crafty ways to update old clothes or a quiz for testing “Eco-IQ,” there’s an activity in here for all interests. Informational sections such as “Meet Your Eco-Footprint” and “Talk like a Climate-change Expert” discuss ecology-related issues and define language. “Eco All-Stars” highlights activism of other children. Quality photography and illustrations are set in dynamic layouts. Detailed photos teach youngsters how to tune up their own bikes; fun illustrations demonstrate the technique for flipping pizza dough. “Shout Out” and “Listen Up” use expressive type to feature relevant quotes by children and adults. One amusing layout combines photo-faces with illustration-bodies in a section where OWL Magazine staff share their favourite greening ideas. End material includes a bibliography, a list of websites and an index, completing this fine resource for readers who want to protect their environment.
